~ Meet Our Counsellor ~
Welcome to Online Counselling. I am enthusiastic about the unique potential and effectiveness of online counseling and its accessibility to those who, for whatever reason, may not be able or wish to visit a counselor personally. I see online counseling as an invaluable new therapy for many who prefer to take their time thinking about the issues that are troubling them and who can express their emotions on screen, perhaps more easily then in a face-to-face session. The goal is to make informed choices and to cope constructively with life and all its challenges.
My name is Sharon Hartline and I have sixteen years of professional experience as a motivational speaker, workshop facilitator and counsellor. I have taught personal empowerment trainings and gestalt therapeutic group work. I specialize in grief and loss, trauma and life transition issues. My educational background lies in Applied Psychology and Counselling. I have a Certificate in Interdisciplinary Viral Hepatitis Education and an Emergency First Aid Certificate for Blood Borne Pathogens. At present time I am employed at the ASK Wellness Centre as a Rural Community Counsellor. I travel throughout the Interior Health Region offering post diagnosis support to current and newly diagnosed clients. My support includes both asymptomatic and symptomatic stages for post diagnosed clients.
As a counselor, I will always be guided by what you, the client, choose to look at. My task is to assist you in your search for answers to your present concerns. As a member of the British Columbia Professional Counselling Association I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein.
I warmly invite you to contact me whenever it feels right for you. “Part of my work as a therapist is to help clients on their journey to find a new way forward”
